The Shanghai Financial Work Bureau announced recently that the list of award items for the 2018 Shanghai Financial Innovation Award has been created, which has been officially announced since July 4 and ended on July 12. According to the public list, 58 projects, including China crude oil futures, previous standard warehouse receipt trading platform and international reinsurance platform, were listed, of which more than 80% of the reporting units of financial innovation projects were registered in Pudong.

Financial factor market and infrastructure innovation account for more than 20%.

The announcement project of Shanghai Financial Innovation Award in 2018 mainly concentrates on three areas: financial factor market and financial infrastructure innovation, private enterprises and micro-financing products innovation, and financial science and technology innovation. There are 13 innovative projects from financial factor markets and financial infrastructure, accounting for more than 20%.

There is no doubt that Shanghai International Energy Exchange's China Crude Oil Futures and Shanghai Insurance Exchange's International Reinsurance Platform, the two major international platforms of financial factors market for overseas investors, are on the list. As China's first international futures, China's crude oil futures was launched in March last year and has now become the third largest crude oil futures trading market in the world. The Shanghai Insurance Exchange International Reinsurance Platform was launched in August last year. As a result of introducing domestic and foreign participants, China's reinsurance market will be further opened to the outside world, thus promoting China's pricing power and discourse power in the global reinsurance market.

The construction and operation of the RMB cross-border payment system (phase II), the innovation and breakthrough of the series of products of the China Debt Index and the innovation and improvement of the RMB foreign exchange trading mechanism are also included.

金融要素市场和基础设施创新占比超两成
2018年度上海金融创新奖公示项目主要集中在金融要素市场和金融基础设施创新、民企和小微融资产品创新以及金融科技创新三大领域。来自金融要素市场和金融基础设施的创新项目为13个，占比逾两成。
上海国际能源交易中心推出的中国原油期货和上海保交所推出的国际再保险平台两大可面向境外投资者的金融要素市场国际化平台毫无疑问榜上有名。作为我国首个国际化的期货品种，中国原油期货去年3月推出，目前已成为全球第三大原油期货交易市场；上海保交所国际再保险平台去年8月推出，由于引入境内外参与主体，将助推我国再保险市场进一步对外开放，从而提升我国在全球再保险市场的定价权和话语权。
人民币跨境支付系统（二期）建设与运营、中债指数系列产品创新与突破以及人民币外汇交易机制创新与完善等金融基础设施创新项目也均在列。
